Elena Shirokaya

Founder of Private Equity for Climate™, part of EverVenture Consulting Ltd

Elena previously worked within IH International Advisors (formerly Inter-IKEA), an institutional private equity investment office with more than 20 years of investment history. During her tenure, she led due diligence processes across private equity and venture capital investment funds, including climate and impact-focused strategies, and contributed to the development of a climate-oriented fund-of-funds investment framework.

Prior to her career in investment management, Elena gained cross sector experience across FMCG, logistics, banking and insurance. Within private equity, she held various non-executive and fund advisory board roles, strengthening her governance perspective and ability to operate across complex institutional environments.

She successfully completed the University of Cambridge program Climate Change for Decision-Makers: Challenges, Transformations, Strategies, further strengthening her ability to assess climate transition pathways and translate complex topics into strategic decision-making frameworks.

My approach is to build partnerships with the management of private equity firms by understanding their vision and mission, as well as the technical intricacies of the technologies they invest in. I complement this with an engineering eye for detail, as the climate investing market requires both financial understanding and technical expertise.
